The Manifesto of Self-Defense is a self-help book written by Capt. Guy Stultz, who shares some measures on how to prevent burglary and a guide to protect yourself from rape, scams, fires, poisons, and other ideas as well as precautionary measures that will be most helpful to protect the citizenry. He has been a freelance news photographer since the early nineteen sixties.

Later on, the police requested his services to photograph minor crime scenes such as burglaries, vandalism, vehicle accidents, to name a few. Burglaries interested him more than anything else. When he moved to Oklahoma, he found a job as an armed security patrol officer. He responded to burglar alarms and photographed burglary scenes.

After all the years of being a police photographer and security patrol officer, he became sort of an expert on burglaries. Many neighborhood associations invited him to their meetings to speak on burglaries. He received many letters from neighborhood residents thanking him for some of his ideas on protecting their home.
