In Life We Learn...
NOT ALL people are Fair.
NOT ALL people respect Personal Boundaries.
NOT ALL people Communicate Well.

I needed to empower my students by teaching them how to cope with the real world and I didn’t have to be nice to do it. In fact I would tell them I would be setting them up often throughout the semester to see how well they could cope with being centered out, denied or asked to do things they didn’t like to do.

Then I had to teach them how to vent their upsets quickly and easily so they could get the edge off and not over-react with Tools they could use right then, in the washroom or on a break. Once they learned how to vent creatively, I then taught them how to handle conflict by communicating with the offender in a win, win way. If they couldn’t confront me, they would never be able to confront their employer, the one who held the purse strings, so to speak.

It wasn't long before they were using one or more of these Quick Fix Techniques daily to help them cope with both the external and internal negativity in a fun yet healthy way.
