The Journeys of Joyce and Peter is a detailed and personal account of the lives of two special and unique people – Peter and Joyce Peeters.
Peter - who against enormous odds survived the devastating bombings of Dresden, Germany in 1944 among many other close calls as a non-commissioned officer in the Dutch Army.
And Joyce - 10 years Peter’s junior, who was thankfully spared the worst horrors of World War Two, but nonetheless endured the shortages, rationing and other general hardships that went with growing up as a young girl in war torn England.
From their first meeting at the New Settler’s Club in Auckland, New Zealand on New Year’s Eve 1950, to their final journey to Perth, Western Australia in 2001, this book recounts some of the most memorable adventures that befell them and their four children: Anthony, Timothy, Michael and Ingrid.
