The book starts with an address to the issue of corruption and how it is drastically affecting the country. The Problem of the citizen's grievances had become accentuated in the past years as a result of several political, economic and social developments and a general deterioration in standards of administrative efficiency and integrity and the people's dissatisfaction with the administration grew substantially. So the author tried to find out why did these institutions failed to deliver effectively? Which kind of mechanism, the country must have to address the grievances to its citizens. The author has gone through the institutional development of the Ombudsman in different countries along with India. To under better the office of Ombudsman and its feasibility in India, he had compared the Ombudsman in Sweden, United Kingdom and India. The author found some issues in the "The Lokpaland Lokayuktas Act, 2013" which have been highlighted.
