The Infinite are a vast group of immortal men and women who originally appeared in Egypt and Nigeria around 3000 BC. Created by God as the first line of defense against supernatural phenomena through Armageddon, they possess the ability to regenerate their internal physiology every 500 years.  Actually able to hear the inhuman heartbeat of a supernatural being, The Infinite possess superior intellect, as well as phenomenal martial arts skills.  Each Infinite has the ability to manifest the SEG (Spiritual Essence Glow) as glowing, blade-shaped, violet light, emanating from the hand that he favors, as a potentially lethal weapon.  The Infinite cannot be possessed or spiritually corrupted,
and they can only be killed by Heavenly beings, Hell creatures, and each other.

Over time, as the Earth's population increased, it became necessary for The
Infinite to seek a more covert existence, in order to continue to go unrecognized
by humanity.  They were presented with a vast retreat, which exists outside of time
and space, as we understand them, at the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro.  This would prove
to be their final Heavenly gift, as separation quickly lead to arrogance and complacency. The Elders soon phased out Earthly duties, teaching a doctrine of non-interference and self-superiority to the youth.

Jonathan VI, now Jonathan Steele, is an outcast from this Holy Sect. He has become a shadow warrior, solitarily roaming the Earth in a noble attempt to continue the work for which he, and all of his kind, were created. This is his story.
