Hugo Winton was a mild mannered man and, as usual on a Friday night, sat alone in a bar mooning over one of his coworkers.
"What's her name?" Harold asked, breaking into Hugo's thoughts.
"Who's name?" Hugo replied blankly.
"The girl you're mooning over. Seen it before, that look..." he wiggled his finger at Hugo, "There's only two ways to handle a situation like that" he chuckled, "you either tell her how you feel" as he finished his drink, banging his glass on the table, "or you forget her and walk away."
Hugo and Harold just stared at each other for a moment, a smile slowly crept over Harold's face leaving Hugo feeling a little unnerved.
As Hugo watched him leave, he realized that Harold had left his paper behind. Inside the envelope that fell out of the paper, Hugo counted out nearly a thousand dollars in old bills. Besides the cash, there were a few sheets of paper and a small thin blue booklet with some type of golden bird embossed on the front; it looked like a passport. The top sheet of paper caught his eye.

Mr. Hugo Winton:

You will please excuse my clumsy method of introducing myself. I had not originally intended to meet you this way, but certain circumstances beyond my control have forced me to use a slight amount of deception. For that I beg your pardon. Please meet me later at the address below, I have a serious proposition you might be interested in. If you decide against pursuing this course of action, I will be sadly disappointed, but you may keep the money. I would however, require that you at least return the passport to me.

Sincerely, Harold Winton Esq.

Hugo stared at the note and the wad of money; what should he do? With reluctance, he decided to give the envelope and contents back to Harold. He drove out to the address to drop it off, but never made it home that night. Thus begins Hugo's adventure of a lifetime.
