A man lived in a small house out in the country with very few belongings. He was not a rich man, but he thought life was perfect, as it was. Friends came to visit his small house, and, no matter the weather, the houseand the manwere quite accommodating, as the house was a place of love and comfort. Eventually, a town grew up around the house. The man made more friends. Then, a city grew up around the house. The man made even more friends, and they all still came to visit the happy, little house, filled with peace and joy. When the house got old (and the man, too), friends came to keep the house content. Even as an old man, the man was not rich. His house grew no bigger. Yet, friends continued to visit. Gatherings were many, and the man soon realized: he didnt need fame or fortune to be happy. Instead, he needed friends. We could all take a hint. Life isnt about what we own; its about the people we love and the friends we make.
