Time is running out for a man running away. Divorced, desperate and carrying more baggage than can fit into his new Camaro, he leaves his family and ex-wife for Los Angeles and the dream of being a musician. Without plan, he detours to San Diego to visit his father, who, due to a lifetime of lies and substance abuse, wants no part of him. So he pays a visit to his Aunt and cousins, who are not as excited with his new venture, especially when he extends his welcome. As they gently, then forcefully, encourage him to go home, he sinks into depression. A successful trip playing on the Promenade in Santa Monica lifts his spirits, and he takes seeing the Green Flash over the ocean as a sign. But reality comes hard against his dreams, and a lifetime of habits and demons seem to be pulling him into a final downward spiral.
