Ann is raising her orphaned nephew, Ari, after her older sister and her husband die in an accident. When Ari’s uncle, Nikos Theakis, comes into the picture, he arrogantly demands that Ari be handed over to him in exchange for a large sum of money. Seeing as Nikos comes from an incredibly wealthy family, Ann considers Ari’s well-being and reluctantly gives him up. Four years later, Ann unexpectedly runs into Nikos, who views Ann with contempt as a woman only after money. Despite this, a few days later Nikos asks Ann to come to Greece with him and Ari.
