THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE FISHY is a joint effort between two cousins in their tweens that has been in production for almost seven years. The spy spoof story was inspired by a visit to the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC in 2010. The author, Shelby Williams, spent the next three years acting out various scenes from her on-going story of intrepid koi fish who are really secret spies. Her grandmother, Mary Schaller, kept notes of all Shelby's "brain-storming" sessions and found that a real story was developing. In 2013, Shelby moved on to other pursuits, leaving her koi and Fangtooth alone in a notebook. In the summer of 2016, Shelby and her grandmother re-discovered the story and decided to put it together. When Shelby's cousin, Karenna Schaller, visited Shelby in July 2016, she was excited to create pictures of the main characters. The result of their work is THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE FISHY. It was originally planned as a story for ages 8 through 12, but there are a lot of bits in there that will appeal to all spy-story loving adults.
