This is an historical caper set in July in 1938. It starts with Carl Duryea & Johnny Blackham being released from Leavenworth prison. Johnny wants to go back to his hometown of Fresno, California and clear his name. He hasn't a clue as how he will accomplish this. Carl decides he wants to help Johnny. he needs a stake to begin life again and maybe there's some of the money left from the bank robbery four years ago. Blackham has an ally in Fresno, Liz Peck. She's a personnel director at the bank that was robbed and believes she can get Johnny hired as a security guard. The problem is no one knows who had really robbed the bank. Duryea is also hired at the bank as a bookkeeper but something doesn't seem right. he has three days before the 4th of July to figure it out or Johnny and maybe him will be killed.
