The Flames of Soyombo

Autumn Murphy is an average Asian American teenager – strong-willed, intelligent, and kind of geeky. She feels invisible to everyone but her adoptive parents and her childhood sweetheart Dean. A natural beauty, she’s more skilled at kung fu than applying mascara.

Previously homeschooled, Autumn simply wants to make it through her first year at a public high school without embarrassing herself. This goal goes on the backburner when Autumn learns she is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan's Golden Family, and a Natigai, a budding shaman with supernatural powers. Skeptical and resentful of her newfound skills and responsibilities, Autumn’s first instinct is to reject them.

But the horrific murders and kidnappings taking place in her home town force Autumn to confront her destiny, and with the help of the Guardian Spirits, to use her new elemental powers to heal her community and herself.
