The idea of something as small and insignificant as a mosquito being the key agent in recent epidemics is wholly mind-boggling to me. I will go over the origins of the West Nile virus; the path the virus has taken over the course of history, how it is transmitted, and who is at risk for this deadly virus. I will also describe the symptoms of both the virus and the disease that follows extreme cases. The effects of the virus will be shared, as well as different measures that are available to prevent the spread of this virus.
