Some people are under the impression that if your partner does not hit you, harm you physically, or behave in violent ways toward you, that a relationship is perfectly healthy.

However, emotional abuse can also occur in many relationships where physical abuse does not. It can sometimes be hard to notice the signs, particularly when your life is so deeply enmeshed in that of another person.
