The Double Cousins and the Mystery of the Rushmore Treasure

“Adventures” happen a long way off to other people, right?  Home is safe and boring, right? WRONG – at least when the Double Cousins are around.  When Carly and Molly come to Rapid City, South Dakota,  to visit Max’s family they expect fun, not the most dangerous adventure yet! Shortly after arriving, Mr. Crosby—the much loved owner of the corner store—shares a story that leaves Max and Carly wondering if they can find out what happened to Mr. Crosby’s nephew, Lee, in the “Flood of ’72”. But then a crisis intervenes and they drop everything to help Mr. Crosby save his store.  Some of Mr. Crosby’s oldest friends, a newcomer to town, and their church friends all pitch in, but is it enough? Can they save the store? What will Mr. Crosby do if they can’t?  And the old cash register—Mr. Crosby believes it’s the key to everything. Only teamwork and faith will save the store, solve the mystery of Lee Crosby—and see the cousins and Mr. Crosby safely through the most dangerous situation they’ve ever faced. In the process they learn valuable lessons about community, teamwork, and the value of recording history.
