Aidan scrambles to keep the truth about the castle a secret for months. He's learned from his own experience that his village are not the most understanding. They tolerate him but he knows monsters aren't going to be given the benefit of the doubt.

The only thing on his side is no one wants to go near the cursed castle and it's assumed to be abandoned. So as far as the villagers are concerned there's no way for the curse to reach them. Also his boss can be terrifying when she wants to be. No one is going to cross her unless they have a good reason to. He just has to make sure the village has as few reasons as possible.

Unfortunately The village is where he gets the supplies to deliver to the castle and they've noticed the amount of food he's taking up there. They were content to ignore the castle as long as it minded its own business but now they know someone lives there the threat just got bigger.

Their natural reaction to any perceived threats is to tackle them head on, usually in the form of an angry mob.

How is he going to stop them marching up to the castle to deal with the monsters?

This is the third short story in The Exile's Delivery Service series. All about an ordinary boy living in a world of magic and monsters.
