‘Well well, well’ she says, ‘what have we here?’ she says reaching up.
I’m intrigued I must admit, but my hands aren’t touching the shoebox that’s in her hand, so I’m free of any implications if ever this were to get out.
She carefully rests it on the bed and gently takes the lid off, she frowns. To me it looks like a bunch of material and metal, quite odd, but then as she begins to take each item out one by one, it becomes apparent what she’s uncovered.
‘Do you reckon there’s keys for these?’ she asks holding two pairs of handcuffs.
With one long index finger pointed out and turning the metal of the wrist restraint in continuous motions around and around, I can only stand and watch.
‘I don’t know’ I reply, actually worried now that the owner will just pop their head round the corner, or our boss would have checked up on us to make sure we’re working properly.
