Book Five in the series Tales of the Triad
After two hundred years of living and working in the Triad Kingdom, Phillip was tired of using his magic to load grain silos and ships. He had been hanging with the same friends for longer than many people had been alive, drinking beer and eating pizza after work for almost a century. He was in a rut that was so deep he could barely see the sky. He felt useless and wanted to take on an adventure in the Outlands like his hero Sid had done, making a difference in human lives.
He found himself with a chance to do just that. A new and mostly unknown territory, known to the citizens of the Triad only as the dark lands, was about to be opened up for a few plucky heroes willing to take on the challenge and danger of being the first contact.
His friends used a different word to describe the ones who would go. Idiot.
