Landon Jeffries finds love after divorce as her luck would have it. Her new lover inflames more friction with her entourage, but the excitement and passion of her escapade deems worthy of the trouble and alienation. A part of her still belongs to Todd, her ex-husband, but her body fully belongs to Detective Reed.

The divorce papers mean nothing to Todd as in his mind Landon will always be his woman. Unfortunately, Detective Reed stands in Todd’s way as he regrettably let the love of his life slip through his fingers. He watches on in agony as the woman he swore to love until death becomes captivated by another man, all while experiencing a series of disappointments.

Jules and Jen embark on a changing scenario of living arrangements to satisfy Jen's desire to be close to her son. Jen contemplates making her move for her inheritance against the advice of Jay who now finds himself at the forefront of his son's mother's protection while he and Millicent continue to prove everyone wrong about their entanglement. Launa, Landon's sister, becomes a necessary component for a group that is falling apart, as Landon and Millicent try to work out their differences as more sex, love, and suspense continue to unfold in The Crossing.
