So you've got a meth-dealing suburban punk named Lenny, who lands a job as the still photographer for a small, mafia-owned porn studio named Inana Productions. His best friend (and bed-warmer) is an Inana performer named Bekka, better known to the world as Becky Page. Between their careers, their addictions, their compulsions, and their jaundiced view of the world around them, their lives are already a bit hectic. But things are about to really ramp up....
This is the first book in a series, documenting the lives of two Southern California natives. They grew up with sun, sand, smog, and Ronald Reagan in the White House. They've always chased thrills. Now, the thrills are going to get a little more intense than they expected.
This is a revival of the Pulp Fiction stories from the Thirties. You've got guns, crime, mafioso, dope, love, fast cars, honor, porn, friendship, betrayal, and carne asada burritos for dinner. Lenny and Bekka live in the dirtier sections of the Golden State, a place where the cops can't be trusted, but your local mafia capo can. There are no real heroes here, just people who are used to doing what it takes to try and get by, in a place where the words "f__k off" are spoken as, "Trust me."
It's a strange and uneasy existence Lenny and Bekka lead... but they expect nothing else out of life, and show it. Put your wallet in your front pocket and cruise the same streets with them. They're good people, unless you try and jerk them around. Then your day just went to hell.
