The Club of Queer Fellows

Washington Irving was an American writer. essayist, biographer, short-stories writer best known for his stories "Rip Van Winkle”(1819) and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (1820). “Club of Queer Fellows” is the short-story entered in the collection of essays “Tales of a Traveller”. The story is told by first-person, a narrator, who with his eccentric friend Buckthorne went to the “Club of Queer Fellows”, a great resort of the small wits, third-rate actors, and newspaper critics of the theatres. Anyone can go in on paying a shilling at the bar for the use of the club.
