Do you sometimes struggle as a parent, wondering if you are making any spiritual impact? What would happen if you wrote out your commitment to your children in the form of a ketubbah, a written contract? This book presents an idea to help you leave a spiritual legacy for your children. A ketubbah is a written marriage contract between a husband and wife. They enter into a covenant relationship and the ketubbah lays out the terms. Traditionally, a ketubbah is written and decorated beautifully and hung on the couple’s wall. Each day, they can look at it and remember their commitment to their spouse and the responsibilities they have. YHVH (the personal name of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) made a covenant with His people, the Children of Israel. The Torah, the first five books of the Bible, is His ketubbah, His written contract with us, His bride. What if we wrote a ketubbah for our children? What if we wrote down our responsibilities as a parent and our commitment to our children? What if we showed it to our children to help them understand our love and commitment? How would our children respond? How would it change them? How would it change us? The Children’s Ketubbah Project is a challenge to parents. We want to know what would happen in families if we wrote ketubbahs for our children. Will you join us? In this book, you will find a suggested ketubbah, along with scriptural support for its content. We will also cover the importance of the weekly blessing. The last chapter contains additional resources that you may find helpful as a parent. Please join us as we seek to bless the next generation.
