James Baldwin was an American editor and prolific writer, mostly known as the children's author in the subjects of legends, mythology, biography. “The Black Douglas” is the name of fairy tale protagonist, the Scottish brave man, whose hair and beard are black and long, and his face is tanned and dark. For this reason people nicknamed him the Black Douglas. He is a good friend of King Robert Bruce and one of his strongest helpers, who did many brave deeds. So, this story narrates about one of them.
