The Marquis de la Tour-Samuel, aged eighty-two, remembers a strange story, there occurred fifty six, and fear that since obsessed. In 1827, stationed at Rouen, he met a friend he had not seen for five years. The latter appears to have taken fifty years: his hair is white and walks bent. He asks her, under the seal of secrecy, to go to the castle to take important papers in his desk.

He does not want to go there himself, because since the death of his wife (died of heart disease), there is no set foot. The Marquis went to the castle, is recognized by the keeper and goes into the room. He quickly located the papers, but an impression in a cushion intrigue, he feels a presence in the room. A woman dressed in white looks and asks him to comb. Overcoming his panic at the sight of this ghost, it runs and runs away when the woman disappears. Labouise, who want to have fun, bought the donkey percent in the woman and then moves to forty paces and shoots the animal with small shot. We must not kill right away and make it last. Suddenly, two shots in the third, the exhausted beast tries to flee. The two men complete it by shooting him in the mouth.
