Captain Patterson's adventures are written in a companionable, good natured style which leads the reader through the Peninsular War towards the Pyrenees and Southern France Campaign. This account is filled with much essential information of the campaign and the battlefields, as well as entertaining anecdotes of the author’s own experiences and those of his soldiers and comrades. An essential addition to the Napoleonic library of every enthusiast.
