The Advancement of Mateo Matic and Other Stories

Mateo Matic is, for the most part, an average 28-year-old guy. He was adopted by a lovely couple, but had a decent relationship with his birth mother...until she disappeared without a trace when he was only eight. Today is his birthday, and the one that changes everything. At the strike of midnight, Mateo is sent forward in time exactly one year. And at the end of that day, he is sent another year forward. As he continues to move through time at an astonishing rate, Mateo must deal with deadly and angry opposition, and do everything he can to unravel the mysteries of the "powers that be" who are said to be in control. He meets other helpless time travelers who refer to themselves as salmon. Each salmon has their own pattern, and their own purpose. It is up to Mateo to find his own reason for being manipulated and hopefully shape the timestream for the better.
