Study Abroad: The Book of Jobe

Through this coming-of-age true story, we get to see a glimpse of Jobe's life during his most challenging years, a point when he undergoes a lot of growing up and changes. His circumstances of living in a foreign country also causes him to have unique personal growth. We enter Jobe's life when he is a carefree college student. We leave it when he is a much more mature and thoughtful young man. In addition, this work includes a twist ending that is unimaginable. A 21-year-old American student has his entire existence turned upside down when he accepts an invitation to Study Abroad in the Netherlands. Instead of starting his senior year in the comfort zone, he must quickly adapt to the ways of Europe, or be left behind. Follow Jobe as he navigates his way through the unknown. It is an intimate portrait of my daily experiences not filtered through any kind of editorial process. The intention is not to tell all of my life’s experiences, just those surrounding the time of each particular entry. All the same, autobiography, travel journal, and diary could be worthy descriptions of this piece. This work is a true story in its entirety. Each event, hardship, and comical moment was experienced and recorded at the time indicated. My purpose in publishing this writing is to locate the acquaintances from my travels and share this piece of literature with them. I am in constant search of all the characters in this book.
