Strung Out: A Novella

A modern coming-of-age fable, "Strung Out" tells the tragic story of five homeless youth who struggle with addiction and other maladies in the big city. The backdrop, in this case, is Seattle, but it can be Anywhere, USA, as the menace of drug abuse continues to sweep across the nation. Even with the aid of social service organizations and their caring workers, it can sometimes be impossible to get through to the youth who have fallen by the wayside. "Strung Out" is a cautionary tale, one that can plague any well-meaning family, and a testimony to the ails that continue to torment today's society. In "A Walk in the Park with Mozart," a physicist from the University of Washington is curious to find out what it'd be like to bring a genius back from the old days into the modern world. Successfully testing his time machine, he did just that - dragging Mozart off his death bed and escorting him through modern Seattle. Will Mozart find the new world too complicated or settle into it peacefully?
