Standing in the Shadows is the result of self-taught efforts. I applied to bring enlightenment first to myself then to those who choose to escape from the bondage that domestic violence and or an epiphany about needing to change themselves with-in. In my youth, now 64 years old these lessons I learned created renewal, restoration with-in, and a total refreshing inspiration as to whom our Lord Christ Jesus predestined me to be. Unique, beautiful and wonderfully made.
Standing in the Shadows are a few true stories and the many turbulent relationships I went through just because my parents raised myself and five other siblings to tolerate and accept being beat on a daily bases was ok. Not true! I give tips and guidance as to the steps I used in order to turn my "stink'in think'in" into a more acceptable, successful method for a better lifestyle and mental well-being. I also list many of the post-it motivations I used to help clear my head and train myself up, as the apostle Paul states in 1-Corinthians 9:27 of Word of God.
It's my mission to pass on as much as I can to individuals willing to learn new and improved methods for themselves to escape their own demise. Feeling alone, during this time of my life, I used pen and paper along with my local library to educate myself. Forty-Five years ago domestic violence wasn't looked upon as a problem; therefore I felt alone. But, today we have many avenues for anyone out there to get the help they need and help them escape this grave travesty in our society. I list several references and inspiring motivational quotes I used at this trying time of my life to overcome. As well as emergency phone numbers anyone can use to begin the process necessary for this kind of change.
