This urban fantasy collection includes a witch, a squirrel, a dash of humor, and 10 short stories:

- A Witching Spree
At an annual magic convention in Amsterdam, young witch Darya first meets her familiar, squirrel Beatrice. Unfortunately, Darya lives in Vancouver, Canada, and can’t bring a squirrel home legally. To circumvent the Canada Customs’ ruling against the importing of squirrels, Darya needs magic. Perhaps she could disguise Beatrice as a cat.

- The Breaking Spell
After having a prophetic dream about an explosion at a local craft fair, Darya rushes to the fair to find and disarm a bomb. She doesn’t know where the bomb is or how to find it and doesn’t have the faintest idea how to disarm bombs. She is going to improvise.

- Find the Rogue
A rogue magician is killing drug addicts. Darya must find and neutralize him, but when she ventures into his territory, she discovers that appearances could be deceiving, and the rogue is not the villain he seems to be.

- From Garbage with Magic
Could Darya liberate a sylph from entrapment? Could the sylph help her to save a life? She is about to find out.

- Imp for their Sins
Someone is blackmailing Darya’s friend Rachel with an old, explosive photograph. The only way to help Rachel is to break into the blackmailer’s house and steal back the photograph.

- Curse of the Blonde
Darya likes her new hairdo with blond streaks, but Beatrice considers blond hair a symptom of stupidity. The squirrel might be right.

- The Rat Heist
While on a routine visit to a bank, Darya is taken hostage by a group of armed bank robbers. To extricate herself and her fellow hostages from danger, she uses a magical illusion to terrify the robbers. Her illusion succeeded all too well.
- Flute Enchanted
A magic flute is stolen from the Magic Academy vault. When the flute manifests in Darya’s home city, she must find and retrieve it. But what if the new owner is not a thief?

- Fashion Show
As a witch, Darya knows that evil comes in many guises. When a teenage girl’s hatred for her stepmom inspires evil actions, Darya faces a moral dilemma. Does she have the right to interfere in the family affair, to judge and punish the guilty?

- Hypnosis Diarrhea
One of Darya’s students is regularly abused by a boyfriend. To help the woman, Darya devises an original solution involving magic, hypnosis, and diarrhea.
