While Princess Elysant enjoys the taste of freedom and romance with Darragh, Captains Barwick and Tethion seek the assistance of her betrothed, Duke Concobhar. A search and rescue party is gathered to find the princess and it includes both Barwick and Concobar, himself. Leaving behind a council meeting that will decide the ruler of Albion, they go in search of the "kidnapped" (runaway) bride.

The first night of their chase, Barwick has a series of dreams. Still unsure of how his new powers work, he does not realize they are visions until his dreams start coming true.

One is a magical message issued by Lord Randall Castle to the magical community of which Barwick is now part.
One is of a widow who needs help to free her from an unintentional curse.
One is of impending danger to Elysant.

Barwick, however, in true hero form, hides his magical identity from his companions while embarking on their quest and saving the day. He deciphers and resolves two of his visions, unintentionally making himself known to both Lord Randall and to the magical community of Albion. All that remains for him to do is save Elysant from the danger he knows is impending.

Meanwhile, Elysant and Darragh flee their pursuers and eventually find themselves staying a rainy night in a tavern. Here, Elysant's vulnerability is exposed and Darragh's true nature is revealed. He is not as gentle or heroic as she thought. He has a cruel streak that he does not mind turning on her when the whim strikes him.

Will Barwick be able to find his princess while also trying to hide his fledgling powers from the Duke and their search party? Or will he be sent to prison for exposing his magic in the attempt to rescue her?
