Sparkly, the world's most intelligent bear, takes his animal friends on a backyard adventure, where they discover a myriad of activity. They explore different areas of the yard and come across interesting situations. Sparkly is blessed with wisdom much like Solomon's and is therefore able to answer any questions his buddies pose to him. At the end of the adventure, they all relax and reflect on their experiences, relate them to God's word, and compare them to parables which Jesus spoke of in the New Testament. Sparkly and his friends encounter what most people miss on a daily basis. People are so caught up with making money, using their computers and smartphones, and being a part of social media that they dismiss the simple treasures God offers them. Sparkly and his friends pray that families continue to instill Christian morals and values in their lives, and encourage them to help their neighbours do so as well. About the Author: Jerry grew up on a farm near Two Hills, Alberta. His early passion for music and writing included singing and playing drums in the family band and writing short stories. When the family moved to town, he formed a rock band in high school, then studied Radio and Television Arts in college. Jerry's diverse career included three years as a radio disc-jockey, ten years as a television commercial writer/producer, and twenty-five years in marketing, media sales, and private business. A self-taught guitarist during his college days, he continues his passion of writing and performing songs. Jerry dreamed of writing several books, but over time he decided his first would be a children's book. Now semi-retired, and with increased faith, he chose to write a Christian children's book. His choice was confirmed one summer afternoon in his backyard when he heard and saw Mr. Meadowlark singing in his spruce tree. You see, Jerry's family band was named "The Meadowlarks" and he had only heard one sing, once, when living on the farm. Instantly, he knew it was a sign from God and his parents that he needed to write this book.
