“Get me a steady broadside shot,” Cooper told the pilot. The pilot looked nervous but nodded. As he brought the helicopter around, Cooper checked the Chamber of the Socom to make sure it was loaded. He slid the door open of the helicopter.
The helicopter approached the guard head on. As the guard raised his gun to fire, the pilot turned the stick and the helicopter swung around. Cooper raised the SOCOM, finding the guard’s torso in the red dot of the Aimpoint. Cooper squeezed the trigger. The Socom recoiled against his shoulder. The Hornady 165 Grain Interbond TAP Barrier Round leapt from the barrel at 2425 Feet per Second with 2154 Foot Pounds. The Hornady slammed into the chest of the guard, blowing his lungs out his back.
