Startled by his change of words, her face cleared, as if she didn’t know how to react. She was even prettier than when she was angry. He’d bet he couldn’t handle her being happy.

“Oh, that’s … Thanks. But …” She looked past him at the driveway, then to the right at his car. “You shouldn’t park there,” she said. “I have a new neighbor, and I don’t know when they’ll come home.”

Fed up with her life, Lorelai McDowell went back to college. Though she’s older than other students, it’s never too late to start over. She only needs to apply herself, and with enough dedication, she’ll earn her business degree.

Jarek Barrow took the job filling in for the school’s current business professor, happy to expand his horizons. He loves his home state, but, in light of his brothers’ recent marriages, needs to strike out on his own. He’ll make new friends, see new places.

Yet, tossed together unexpectedly, time and time again, her desire for success and his search for a new beginning might create the best thing of all. A chance to fall in love.
