Sequoia: Friend of Animals is a graphic novel made up of the first 2 issues of (c) The Adventures of Browser and Sequoia 1993 - 2013 comic book series, originally published in 1998.   It is a story about a clan of Native Americans living in a hostile place, some 14,000 winters ago.  We now the place as Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia today.  Sequoia, the son of the Medicine Chief if blessed with an uncanny ability of being able to communicate with animals.  His grandfather, Chief White Cloud of the Eagle Clan, brings young Sequoia on his first hunt.  What the old Chief didn't know was that Sequoia's pet named Saber is following and causes a lot of trouble.  At one point, the Chief and the other warriors head back to the village, leaving Sequoia, his father and Saber to continue the hunt.  They venture to a place no one from the clan had even gone before and find Mammoth's and Mastodon's watering in a salt pond.  Boys being boys, Sequoia chases after a baby Mammoth, only to fall and drown in a deep pond.  What happens next could be described as nothing short of a  miracle...
