Secrets have a way of burrowing deep, whether at the heart of our male protagonist or at the center of an all female government set to implode. The year is 2039, the Government tightly controls the lives of the citizens while beings from another world have taken over earth by planting altered females in power, females who want to enslave the remaining people on earth to do their bidding.
But our male protagonist is also altered genetically by a force that stands to guard the population from such a scheme: a process of accelerated natural selection.
Our male protagonist is self-sufficient, goal-oriented and on the surface, seems like he has his act together. But he hides behind a 'mask' until he meets a nurse, who is not afraid to speak her mind, invest her energy in him and his multi-layered secrets.

Demonstrators advanced; the hospital gates closed automatically. Security officers ran towards the entrance, guns drawn.
The noise from the demonstrators grew louder as they assaulted the hospital gate. I couldn’t make out what the demonstrators were yelling, too much confusion. Someone threw a fire bomb at the gates, the roadway into the hospital erupted in flames.
