Sea of Temptation

During the American Civil War, Felicity Wentworth, a New York heiress, tries to prove to her abolitionist father that she cares about more than balls. Determined to rescue the children of an escaped slave, she steals away behind enemy lines to Charleston. Once there she discovers the ravages of war have taken their tole on the city. She also discovers that finding the children, let alone escaping with them to New York will take more strength of character than she knew she had. It will also take the help of Captain Devon Blackstone, a notorious blockade runner. But though Devon is captivated from the moment Felicty dances into his arms, he doesn't believe the lies she tells him. Only after managing to evade the Yankees, find the children and run the Federal blockade do Felicity and Devon learm to trust and love each other. But the war rages on and Devon refuses to put Felicity in harms way by keeping her in the crumbling South. It is Felicity who shows the strength and willingness to sacrifice needed for the lovers to reunite.
