Sam's Smile

Who is she?  The doctor says her name is Jenna Perkins.  She is 34, married and expecting her first baby, but she feels only seventeen.  Once she has relearned basic skills Jenna is sent home with this husband who is a stranger.  Jenna knows that God spared her life; but why?  Will she ever remember the past? Weeks then months fly by and she realizes she loves this husband who is good man.  As life unfolds old unremembered problems in their rocky marriage are revealed. They are able to deal with each issue in a new way thanks to Jenna’s newfound gratitude until she inadvertently discovers an awful truth.  Her decisions and her priorities prior to her accident had her life in complete tatters. After months of painful self-evaluation, she makes the heartbreaking decision to move away in an attempt to find the self-forgiveness she so desperately craves.  Will a new location make the gulf between Jenna and Sam worsen or will she find self-forgiveness and go back to her family?  Who was this woman who had befriended her these past months that now the landlord says doesn’t exist?  Where had Muriel gone?  Was it possible that God had sent an angel to help her find the forgiveness she had so anxiously prayed for?  And, why would God ever think Jenna was worth sending an angel to help save her?  Why would God ever love someone like her this much?
