Safe Radiography

Safe Radiography is the overview of my experiences while practicing general diagnostic radiography. While it is not a comprehensive method of radiographic practice, its content will be of immense benefit to student radiographers, newly recruits and a quick reference to my colleagues. The book focused essentially on how to keep the patient safe and to better give the patient a excellent and safe healthcare treatment experience. Radiographic practice is the sole aim of Safe Radiography but other healthcare personnel may also find the book useful and a good read and possibly applicable in their day to day practice. Chapters like Taking decision in urgent situations, Justification of radiographic referral, Working Off Hours Alone, Quality Assurance in radiology to mention a few are part of the topic covered in the book. Some practical scenarios which may not be found in school textbooks were also explored to demonstrate that radiography is a dynamic profession. The book will also renounce the notion that "radiographers are just button pressers" and put radiography and radiographer respectively in their rightful status as part of a dedicated team in medical healthcare
