Rope Dance

Ever since the night Christopher Kydd disappeared, Lacie has searched for her childhood crush. Now, in a time when bold pirates roam the seas and Empress Sofia's navy scours the planet Grimm in search of scoundrels to hang, the Bashful Mermaid's singer, Lacie Heartsong believes she knows the identity of the notorious pirate, the "Ghost." Lacie suspects he is actually Kit, the handsome rogue she hasn't seen since they were childhood companions, brutally separated by her lecherous stepfather. One night aboard the pirate vessel, Albatross, following an act of overdue revenge, Lacie and Kit rediscover each other. Almost before they realize time hasn't drowned their love for each other, hideous skrag marauders seeking sex slaves in a violent coastal raid tear them apart again.
Haunted by the memory of his kidnapped love, Kit seeks the aid of Whisper Snowfox, a half-elven princess and close friend to the missing Lacie. With her, his mongrel mate, Hawke, and the crew of the pirate sloop, Sea Dragon, Kit searches for Lacie, battling monsters and renegade pirates, while barely keeping one step ahead of a vengeful royal navy and dodging his black-hearted empress, ever eager to watch Kit dance at the end of a rope. As cannons roar and swords slash, as the heady scent of exotic blossoms drifts across turquoise tropical waters from a nearby coral atoll, and gentle zephyrs kiss the skin with the tender caress of a lover's touch, the crew flees monsters, human and otherwise. Should Kit and Lacie be reunited, they will have to weather a course along the razor's edge of the abyss known as the Sea of Lost Souls, even as their love for each other surges to life like an unstoppable tsunami. Even if Kit escapes the dreaded pirate's Rope Dance, he and Lacie will learn dark secrets from their tragic past lie in wait, eager to destroy them.
