Japan and Nepal have emerged as nations of considerable importance in the politics of Asia. Nepal being a buffer state is playing a crucial role in foreign policy of both the neighbours India and China. Recently due to the Mao’s insurgency, it has become the centre of terrorist activities as such, it has become all the more necessary especially for India to pay attention to the problem. Besides, Nepal is also plying significant role in the South Asian regional cooperation. Japan on the other hand has emerged as major economic power in Asia and wish to play a crucial role in the politics of the region. The present volume covers all these significant issues and problem. The papers included in this volume have been written by eminent scholars and policy practitioners such as Chakra Bastola, M.K. Bhattarai, B.C.
