Kurt Brubacher recalls this third episode in the ongoing series that tells the tale of Admiral George Bryant, the greatest tactician the Federation has ever seen. For his part, Kurt is raising a son as he mourns the loss of his wife. But, he must go on. He commands the IGB - still growing but a million and a half people and a vast array of ships and weaponry. Meanwhile, George and his wide-ranging force, Mobile Fifth Rapid Action Command are desperately seeking a solution to the Isesinis dilemma.
Unknown to each, both men and their organizations are secreted in isolated neighboring star systems just trying avoid their powerful foe and collectively catch their breath.
It's August 2267 and the Orion Federation's titanic defense force, the OFSA has been driven from its vast territory by an unknown enemy. All of its surviving Commands are secreted in widespread locations. The Isesinis can effortlessly annihilate OFSA vessels with their powerful battleships that are impervious to Federation weapons. And then, there are their enormous ghostly Stations the enemy keeps well protected and obscured.
Kurt must first find the means to locate and contact Mobile Fifth RAC and any other remaining OFSA contingents that have been ejected from the Federation. Then, he'll have to search for a means to overcome the Isesinis' superior technology.
And George must plan the strategy to recover their King's Federation and restore its democratic constitutional monarchy. Admiral Bryant's innate ability to predict his enemy's actions, his instinctive tactical skills, and his absolute loyalty to the Federation make him uniquely qualified for the task.
But Governor Kil Kos the malevolent Isesinis leader will even stoop to genocide to prevent George and Kurt from attaining their ultimate goal. He will do anything to ensure the Isesinis preserve their gains and their hold on the half-trillion Federation citizens they've annexed.
Kurt moves us rapidly between research laboratories, wide-ranging battlefields, covert missions of discovery, destruction, and planetary resistance movements as the fight for freedom heats up.
But, will all this preparation and planning lead to success or will Kil Kos win out, in the end?
