Julie Berkley returned to her Virginia plantation, Myrtle Wood, only to discover she is pregnant after her harrowing adventure in the Libyan Desert with the blue-eyed sheik, Aezrakan. Naming the child Azeem, she raised him on the plantation along with his mischievous friend, Ed Hobson. Their senior year in college, both Ed and Azeem are drafted into the Second World War. Ed goes to England to fly planes over the English Channel and Azeem become an aide to General Eisenhower and comes to London to help make plans to keep Rommel from taking North Africa. Since they are looking for a place to store their water and gas, Azeem offers to go to Cairo and see if he can find his father, as he might allow them to hide their petrol and water in his secret castle. Taking Ed Hobson as his pilot, he and Ed parachute into the desert and are picked up by their mother’s old guide, Hamid.  After many close encounters with the Nazi’s and other experiences, they are eventually saved by Aezrakan and taken to El Mayya Ksar. The story relates the meeting of Azeem and his father, and Aezrakan’s angry response when Azeem asked for the Allies to use his castle for their storage of gas and water. It’s an exciting tale between the men, their escape and return, Azeem’s relationship with an Arabian girl named, Sara, and how they eventually go to meet General Montgomery in Northern Africa. Read and enjoy the entire thriller and emotional saga.
