Becoming A Father Women say that men dont know The pain through which a woman go; Maybe this is true, and yet I know its the day hell never forget; When each one came he suffered, too, And prayed it would soon be through; He paced the floor, and dabbed his eyes, Waiting for the very first cry Shes doing fine, the doctor said As she glanced at him from eyes of red Shes doing just fine, he said again Thank you, he said with a phony grin When it came, oh what a joy The Lord gave us a baby boy When it was over you looked a wreck Clothes wrinkled, shirt collar limp at your neck Your head is throbbing, and your features drawn Its no wonder with the suffering you had borne You feel like youve walked a hundred miles Until she gives you that loving smile She looked at him and softly said If I were you, Id go get in bed Hers was the bitterest part, I know She travailed through the valley of woe Now when women folk recall The pain and anguish of it all I tell them in a manner so sad It aint no cinch becoming a dad Looking back at the pain you went through Hes just an addition to a growing crew So when you think woman has it so hard Think on the man cause plays his part Happy Fathers Day to all the men Unless you become a woman, youll never win. Woman Do you know you are a costly thing? Made by the Hand above? A womens heart, and a womans life, and a womens wonderful love. Your heart is as an ocean deep, as it is wide. A loving woman finds heaven or hell On the day she is made a bride. Man requires a cook for his bread and beef, But a woman requires a far greater thing. A seamtress man wants for his socks and shirts, While woman makes man her king. She is fair, yet the rose bud may fade from her soft young cheeks one day Will you love her mid the falling leaves, as you did many the blooms of May? If she cannot be this, a laundress and a cook, you can hire a maid, and pay; But a womens heart and a womans life, are not to be worn that way. A queen for the beautiful realm called home, Established by our Maker, God. He looked upon woman as He did on man, And said: It is very good For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. (I Corinthians 11:7)
