THIS POETRY EMERGES out of occasions when the intersection of word and deed comes to the surface in the form of a dissident poem. Such poetry gives us prophetic alerts to pay attention to things that matter, like peace not war, like economic and immigrant justice, like an earthy passion for life more than death. Each poem alludes to a context for its commentary on values and its relevance for enabling us to think about awe-inspired values that seem so irrelevant.
This book is Volume 2 of three volumes of Prophetic Poetry and talks about
Ron crossing the line with two others at Whiteman AFB on April 16, 2012 in protest Drones and later against nuclear weapons. “When you see so much injustice going on with the killing of innocent children and secret surveillance of whistleblowers you sense that you have to get in the way. You sometimes become a trouble maker because it is the right thing to do.”
