Doctor Barton is held captive, forced to help in DNA changing experiments. Once the experiments become successful, Barton is allowed to return home to his family. But as the years have passed by, so have the chances for his release. One promise after another. Always a reason for them not to let him go. Always another test that Barton has to complete. The lies never end.
Barton has become angry and distrustful. He figures out that they are never going to let him go, and goes rogue, in hopes of escaping. But before he can leave, he must create a cure for himself. A cure to return his mutated body to normal was promised from the beginning, as a measure to keep him under their control. But they never had a cure.
Just as things seem to be moving in the right direction for Barton, they discover his plan and hunt him down. With nothing left to lose, Barton fights for his life, and for the last two humans alive.
