Someone is kidnapping and murdering 12-year-old boys throughout Georgetown County, SC, leaving both local police and an FBI task force perplexed. The abductions have never occurred in the same city, but for some unknown reason, the serial killer has decided to center his recent activity in the small coastal town of Murrell’s Inlet, the home turf of Detective Art Somers and his partner Angela Hunter.
When Art learns he and his son have a tie by blood and a spiritual connection to the case, and as events in the case center more and more on his family, he realizes he must face a harrowing truth - he must choose whether or not to sacrifice his soul to save his son.
