This second edition of volume 2 continues the case study scenario based theme began in volume 1 and culminating in volume 3.  Each is an easy to read short story format that begins by creating a common medical or traumatic emergency scenario, adding patient physical assessment presentations that result, blending the underlying pathophysiology for this then outlining and explaining current evidence based management options.  The books are intended for paramedics both student and experienced as well as those who are employed in the early response to prehospital emergencies.  The author is a vastly experienced intensive care paramedic, university lecturer and road accident rescue team leader.  He has experience in communications, flight and management. He managed the clinical practice guidelines and work instructions for a major metropolitan ambulance service, has contributed to numerous medical textbooks and has previous interests in prehospital research.
