Playing with Time

The story begins with a naive young man, who is given a time machine, by an older much wiser version of himself. The time machine’s computer calls himself Oscar and is able to talk, think for himself and can argue with the gusto of a grandmaster. Before Connor has time to study Oscar’s controls, he accidentally presses the reset button, thus destroying the universe and all history; trapping both Connor and the time machine within a pre-universal fog, from which there appears to be no escape.
Connor spends many years trapped within this fog; throughout this time believing he has destroyed the universe, the world and everyone he loves. Until one day he asks Oscar his age, on hearing the answer Connor realizes he should be long dead, from old age alone, but he has not aged a day over thirty. Then Connor finally understands that there has to have been a universe, history and his parents, as he would not be alive without them, this proves to him that the stars, the planets, the world and history could be created, and allow him to get home and see the people he loves.

Even though this process takes millions of years, because he has a time machine, it takes him seven days, to create the universe, the stars and the planets, A fact that both astounds him and scares him. Gradually he works his way through time, changing both insignificant and major events, guiding the human race on the right path, which is the history we all know.
During this journey he designs and builds the Pyramids in Egypt and Mexico, he helps move the stones for Stone Henge, he establishes Rome and its Empire, starts the fire of London, is the founder of every great city and owns the deeds to New York, he helps to defeat Hitler, and saves the D-Day landings, His travels also allow him to meet and help the most important people in history such as Mosses, Socrates, Alexander the Great, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare, Napoleon, Winston Churchill, and John Lennon among many others, only by helping them can he reaches his goal.
While on this long and extremely eventful roller coaster ride through time, Connor becomes increasingly disenchanted with the insane and customary useless actions of the entire human race, he also feels cheated, as he knows that he can never lead a normal life.
After the present day, he gives the foolish boy (himself, from the start of the manuscript) a new time machine. He watches on as the boy presses the reset button, which starts the cycle and consigns the young Connor to the four hundred year incarceration in the pre-universal fog, Conner can finally map his own potential and place in the universe, but first he decides to travel to his own private planet for a well deserved holiday. However his holiday ends abruptly when disaster strikes and without his knowledge the third world war begins, this war destroys the entire planet. Conner quickly realizes to his dismay, there is only one course of action open to him.
