Pistol Packin' Mama

“Pistol Packin’ Mama” is the first story in a collection of short stories written by William Baites. This story and subsequent stories tell of the hilarious adventures of this gay southerner from Greensboro, North Carolina who ventured from his hometown to become a performing arts executive in New York City, Atlanta and Miami. He finally returns home to Greensboro to confront his past, his family and to write this book, which is his first. This story tells of the author's years working at a private, prestigious southern university and the cast of characters he encounters there which include alcoholic professors who show up to teach class plastered to custodians who fry chicken in the workplace. At the center of it all is a redneck secretary who carries a gun in her purse and fears no one!
